Why this exists

If you've ever tried to plan your competitive shooting season, you know the problem: information about the big matches is scattered everywhere. USPSA Area championships live on the USPSA site, sponsored 3-Gun majors live on the host club's page, Steel Challenge sectionals live on SCSA, PCSL events live on yet another site, and registration usually happens on PractiScore — but PractiScore doesn't make it easy to filter for the big stuff.

Major Match Finderbrings them all into one place. Search and filter Level II and above matches across USPSA, PCSL, Steel Challenge, 3 Gun, and Multigun — with a single click through to register.

What counts as a “major”?

Anything above a normal club match. Specifically:

  • National — USPSA Nationals, Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championship, PCSL Nationals, etc.
  • Area — USPSA Area Championships (Areas 1–8)
  • State / Sectional — State and Sectional championships across disciplines
  • Level II / III / IV — Officially sanctioned Level 2 and above matches
  • Major — Sponsored or invitational majors like the Marauder Match, Memorial Three Gun, Rocky Mountain 3-Gun, Pro-Am, Ironman 3-Gun, and others

Local Tuesday-night club matches are great — but you don't need a site to find them. We focus on the matches you'd travel for.

Where the data comes from

Match data is a hybrid of three sources:

  • Hand-curated— verified entries for the most important annual events, with dates and locations confirmed against official sources.
  • Automated scraping— daily jobs that look for new listings on PractiScore, USPSA, and partner sites.
  • Community submissions — matches submitted via the submit form, reviewed before they go live.

Who built this

Major Match Finder was built by a competitive shooter who got tired of hunting across five different sites every time they wanted to plan a season. The app is free for everyone and exists to make it easier for shooters to find and register for the matches that matter most. An iOS version is on the roadmap.
